All of these values speak to our process in the immediate future because one day we won't need to proactively fight to work on these things, they will be a natural expectation in discussions about futures.
- Plurality: Understanding that there isn't just one future or the future! That doesn't exist because it hasn't happened yet. Futures are plural! In one single mind there are so many vast futures one can imagine. Now multiply that by the number of conscious beings there are! This is also about not simply accepting what any powerful organization or person tells you is the future. We intentionally work with diverse groups of people, with differing neurological differences, learning styles, economic statuses, cultural variances, age variances, etc. because we work to make an inclusive experience while talking about futures. We believe that the world will become more inclusive if we listen to more of a diverse group of people about their hopes for their futures.
- Regenerative culture: We'd love to work with any clients who are also working towards regenerative cultures. We want to help build a world that transcends "sustainability" which only sustains the current level of consumption and degeneration of the planet's resources and ecological systems and keep us at being "100% less bad". Transcending this looks like "regeneration" which will reverse the effects of 250 years of industrialization and 5000 years of deforestation and agriculture and will help us to move beyond that to co-creating a thriving, self-regenerating community of life.
- Equity and Justice: We want to embody equity and justice in everything we do. We want to help build a world where equity is a fundamental value, placing focus on the voices and perspectives of those who have been marginalized as a result of colonialism or other systems of oppression, those who have been othered or silenced, those who have suffered as a result of racism, colourism, ageism, ableism, sexism, classism, fascism, homophobia or for any other reasons. We want to build a world where all people are treated with respect, dignity, empathy and compassion and are included in conversations that determine our futures.
